Whitehorse

Whitehorse

Next morning it was off to our next stop, Whitehorse, where we planned on spending a couple days. Of course, we ran into more couples that we met at previous stops and one convinced us to take a train ride with them to Skagway, Ak the next morning. That evening we went to a local brewery and then went out to dinner and just drove around town. Nothing real exciting about the town but definitely the largest we had come across since Dawson Creek. At some point during the day we got a text from Jamie’s step mom that her cousins, Rick and Gale, were also on an rv trip to Alaska and had just pulled into Skagway that day. We hadn’t seen them in years so Jamie texted her and we decided we’d get together the next day. Small world, first our new found friends convince us to go on a train ride then we find out Jamie’s cousins are gonna be in the town we’re going to.

The next morning the bus picked us up and took us about an hour away to the train station where we boarded the train to Skagway. It was a beautiful ride with lots of scenery. We also saw a bear with her cub during the bus ride. We got to Skagway and walked around town with Rick and Gale then stopped for a beer and lunch. Had a great time and headed back to the train promising we’d catch up again somewhere in Alaska.
