Tombstone, Az

After Bisbee we headed to Tombstone, the location of the famous “gunfight at the ok coral”. Where the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday took down the Clantons and Mclowrys. This town was also famous for its prostitution, outlaws and, of course, the birdcage theater, which saw plenty of killings and is now supposedly haunted. The hotel is also supposed to be haunted and you can stay there. We almost did but we decided to think about it over a beer and by the time we worked up the courage to do it they were closed. I think it might have been kind of spooky because I don’t think anyone else was staying there and there aren’t many residents that live there so it would have almost been like we were alone there. We were wishing we did it. Maybe next year. Or, maybe that was an omen. There were all kinds of artifacts from the early days and I over did it with pictures but it was pretty cool and I couldn’t resist.

We had dinner at “Big Nose Kate’s”, who was the prostitute girlfriend of Doc Holliday and then headed home. We really enjoyed tombstone.
