Time to head north
The last week was spent working for both of us. I got home on the first and was gonna drive to Calgary then go back to work on the 4th then meet Jamie back in Calgary after her trip. As it turned out I got a bit of Delhi belly so called in sick for my next trip.
I did have an odd thing happen crossing the Canadian border. I submitted my paperwork to be able to bring our hand gun through Canada but apparently not in time. So I decided to store it and retrieve it on our way back. When I pulled up to border patrol the woman asked if I had any weapons. I said no and she asked if I’ve ever had a weapon in there. I explained what happened and she asked if I had a receipt for the storage. I said I’d have to go look for it and fortunately I found it right away and she was satisfied. Weird.
From there I drove to Calgary and got my first introduction to Canadian campgrounds. Very much below U.S. standards. Maybe it’s just northwestern campgrounds but that’s been our experience so far in Canada. Settled in for the night to await Jamie’s arrival and played golf the next day.
