The USS Alabama Memorial Park

The USS Alabama Memorial Park

Before I start this post I need to explain. I took so many pictures of the ship and sub that I have to divide them into two posts so this post contains the pictures of the battleship and the next post will be of the sub.

We drove to a place that we passed on the way from Biloxi to Florida called The USS Alabama Memorial Park in Mobile, Alabama. We saw this huge battleship on the drive along Highway 10 that Jamie Googled and although it was over 2 hours backtracking we decided it was worth the drive. We definitely weren’t disappointed. On top of the battleship there were numerous military aircraft, tanks and a submarine, the USS Drum. Both the battleship and submarine were open for self guided tours and it was really fascinating to see the inside of them and see how crewmembers lived aboard for months at a time.
