The mob museum

The mob museum

Today we went to the mob museum. We weren’t sure what to expect of this one but it turned out to be alot of fun. They had all kinds of displays from weapons used by mobsters and “g-men”, wanted posters, a display from the St. Valentine’s day massacre including part of the wall with bullet holes in it, a photo wall of lots of mobsters with their pictures and stories and numerous other displays. They also had two interactive mock ups. One was a forensic room where you went through evidence to search for clues to a crime (a little lame) and the other was an arrest scenario where you were called out to investigate a suspect that was possibly armed and you had to react according to the situation. That there was an eye opener. I won’t give away the specifics of each scenario in case any of you do this. I don’t want to spoil it but you can ask privately if you want to know. But you really had to make very spilt second life and death decisions with very limited knowledge. Gives you a real appreciation to what police officers could potentially come up against. Our time at the mob museum was very enjoyable and this is one is definitely recommended.
