May 16-21 our friends Jess and Gunther came for a visit. We had a great time casino hopping, hitting some great restaurants, and one day at the Flamingo pool with a cabana. One of the highlights of the week was our dinner at the Hafbrauhaus, a German restaurant where Jim and Gunther took their shots a playing the long horns. Those are trumpet type instruments that are about 15′ long. At first neither of them could make a sound blowing as hard as they could but then it finally clicked and they were making sounds that almost sounded like music. Almost. The band member finally rescued the crowd and took over and showed us how it’s really done.
