On to Jacksonville
We left Cape Hatteras for Jacksonville, our final stop, with a short stop in Myrtle Beach to clean out our storage unit. We made it to Jacksonville staying at Pecan Park, our favorite campground in Jacksonville for the lengthy job of cleaning out our coach to put her up for sale. Along with a trip to Hawaii for 10 days it took us until almost the end of September to get her emptied out and cleaned up. During that time Jim’s sister, Sue, listed her on Craigslist. We had some calls but only had one couple came to look at it. They were very interested but the timing was off as they were trying to sell their current house before purchasing an rv. Our friends Jessica and Gunter own an auto advertising magazine called “Auto Source Weekly” in Jacksonville and they offered to list her in their magazine. At the same time Jamie found a consignment lot that worked on a specific commission rather than a percentage. We decided to give them a go and I don’t know if it was the magazine or the lot but she was sold within a week for a very acceptable price.
It was definitely bittersweet. She gave us an amazing and comfortable 5.5 years but we are very excited to begin our new life in St. Croix. Of course, now we are homeless but we have some visiting to do over the next few weeks before our big move so we have plenty of places to stay.
