Texas Won’t Let Us Leave
On the 21st I dropped Jamie off at the airport to go to Michigan to be with her mom while she underwent some surgery. It went well and she’s doing great. I decided I was on a roll playing golf I so went out to play again. Ended up playing 36 holes, lol. The mountain you see in the distance in the 4th picture is Guadeloupe peak, Texas’ highest peak at 8751′. Just to give you an idea of the visibility that peak is 100 miles away! After that I had dinner and packed for going to work the next day. Golf pictures are at the end of the next narrative.
I’m combining two posts since I don’t have any pictures other than the golf course I played above. So here goes.
Jim got back from work late Tuesday night then played golf again Wednesday. Jamie is still on a trip till Thursday. I planned on driving to Albuquerque Thursday and having her fly there to meet up. So much for plans. I started off and once again, I couldn’t get above 20 mph and the check engine light came on again. ****. So I got another tow truck to bring me back to the repair shop. In the mean time I intercepted Jamie in Denver before she went to Albuquerque and she decided to come to El Paso.
This time it was the lift pump, which I thought they replaced the first time. As it turns out after the mechanic that was working on our coach replaced the fuel pump and the lift pump was working fine, he decided to save us about $500 by not replacing the lift pump. I can’t fault him for trying to save us money but obviously that one didn’t turn out very well. So after another glorious day in Hell Paso we finally got on the road around 7 pm on Friday. We drove to a Walmart in Las Cruses about an hour away and spent the night. Yes my friends, we actually got out of Texas!
Saturday morning we hit the road and by some miracle we actually made it to Albuquerque!
