St. Louis arch and zoo

St. Louis arch and zoo

The next day we went to visit the arch and zoo. Jim had obviously been in the arch but it was Jamie’s first time. It can be a little scary because you cram into a little car that carries you to the top but Jamie had no problem with it. It’s a beautiful view from the top and an engineering marvel so we enjoyed that. It was built to remember the people that traveled west for new opportunities so they also had a museum underneath that told their stories. Eh.

After the arch we went to the St. Louis park and zoo. It’s a free park and zoo and considering that you wouldn’t go there expecting much they were huge and beautifully done. The zoo was much bigger than I expected and had a great collection of animals from all over.

After the zoo we went to an area called Soulard, which we were told was a mini New Orleans with live music and great restaurants. It was pretty disappointing but we found a fun place to have a couple drinks and a nice place to eat.
