Sandia Mountain Tram

Sandia Mountain Tram

Jamie had to head to Chicago for training. She was accepted into the Flight Attendant service manager program (congratulations, honey) which basically means she’ll be the head flight attendant on all her flights. The training is a week long so I’m on my own for a while.

After dropping her at the airport, Jordan (our nephew) and I went to Sandia mountain to ride the tram to the top. It was a great trip. The tram goes from 5000′ to over 10000′. From there you get amazing views in all directions. We also hiked to a stone cabin that was built of limestone back in the 1930’s to commemorate all the hard work that was done by New Mexicans during the depression building roads, rails, dams, lookout towers and other things. We weren’t expecting to hike so we both had sandals and hiked through snow, mud and rocks for 3 miles round trip to get there! But it was definitely worth it. There’s also a picture from the tram of the remnants of TWA flight 260, a Martin 404 that crashed in the mountains in 1955.

After that we went back to Jim and Sandy’s and barbecued pork chops and had our final game of chicken foot. Jordan and I won, of course, lol.
