San Francisco
We got back from NJ on Monday. Tuesday we headed to San Francisco planning on going to Alcatraz. We left a bit late and stopped for lunch at another “best sandwiches of America” spots. The winner of the San Francisco spot was closed down but there was a runner up that we went to called Ike’s place. It was truly one of the best sandwiches I ever had. The roll was extremely soft and fresh and the flavor was outstanding. The sandwich that qualified them wasn’t on the menu anymore so we had one called the mozzarella’s big cheese. They had all kinds of cute names for their sandwiches.
Then we headed for Alcatraz. We got there at 1:45 only to find out the last tour was at 1:30. Par for the course for us. So we rode over to the golden gate bridge and then did the only thing that made sense for us after being disappointed we couldn’t see Alcatraz, we went to the Anheuser Busch plant for a tour. Got to try some pretty good beers even though I’m not a fan of Budweiser and enjoyed the tour.
Wednesday we left for Edwards AFB east of Los Angeles with plans of storing the rv for a month while we did our holiday visiting. So this will be the last post until we return in the beginning of January. Merry Christmas everyone! See you next year!
