Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Monday we went to the Rock and Roll Hall of fame, which was built on the waterfront in Cleveland on Lake Erie in 1995. Many cities lobbied for the Hall of Fame but Cleveland was picked. Although many people in and out of the industry were polled as to where it should be built many think Cleveland was picked mostly because they were willing to put up the most money. Interestingly, there’s also a 2nd Hall of Fame in New York City.

As you would expect it had a lot of memorabilia from throughout rock and roll history along with the names of all the artists and groups inducted. Some of the more interesting exhibits were actual clothing worn throughout the years by different artists, instruments played by different artists, and one of the really cool things was the actual pages of lyrics written by different artist. They also have an exhibit called “The Garage”, where you can play the instruments they have available. Unfortunately, this exhibit was closed. Or maybe fortunately in case Jim decided to embarrass Jamie by going in. The only downside to it was many of the exhibits, particularly the video ones were still closed due to Covid.

After the Hall of Fame we walked around the waterfront and Cleveland a bit. It was a beautiful day, sunny and low 70’s.
