Return to Colorado

Return to Colorado

We returned to Colorado on 7/23 and headed to a campground in Loveland. Amazing how hard it was to find a campground in the Denver area in July but we found a pretty descent one. I gave us one day of rest and then it was back to sight seeing. First stop was Rocky Mountain National Park. It wasn’t quite as spectacular as some of the other parks we’ve been to but it was nice and we had beautiful weather. We hiked up one hill to a 12,000′ peak and you could really feel the altitude and temperature drop. I was in shorts and a t-shirt and there’s no doubt my blood has adapted very well to Florida temperatures. Jamie did very well hiking up that hill considering she’s still recovering from double foot surgery. I didn’t expect her to make the climb but she’s a stubborn girl and she hiked all the way up. We had dinner at a great little place called Twin Owls Steakhouse in Estes Park. Then called it a day.

The next day we spent in Fort Collins checking out some breweries and a music festival they had going on.

Interesting car to be driving up a mountain

Ice in July
Some mule deer hanging around
