Today we scheduled a flight around mount Denali with a landing on a glacier. We caught a bus from Denali to Talkeetna, the town Jamie and I visited a couple weeks ago and checked in at the little airport. Our flight wasn’t for a couple hours so we went downtown and had lunch (and shopped, of course) then it was off to the airport for our flight. We picked out our glacier landing boots then boarded a single engine ten passenger Otter. Flew all around the mountain range with spectacular views of mountains and glaciers then landed on one of the glaciers. Very cool. We walked around a bit, made a snowman lol, then got back on for the flight back. Probably the coolest thing I did in Alaska. After that we went back downtown and as usual the girls shopped while we had a beer. Then we got back on the train for our ride back to anchorage. Except this time I didn’t realize it but our seats were in first class! This was done by the tour company but I had forgotten. They couldn’t get us in first class for the ride up cuz we booked too late. What a treat. They had more comfortable seats, big windows and our own bar! We also went to the dining car for an excellent dinner. Sorry so many pics but this was a great trip and worth all the pics.
