On to Corpus Christi!

On to Corpus Christi!

We dropped Brent and Ashley off at the airport today and hit the road for Corpus Christi and the CCNAS. Corpus Christi Naval Air Station for you civilians, lol. One thing for sure, it is crazy windy here. No way we’re putting out the awning or chairs or anything. In fact, I’m hoping the motorhome doesn’t blow away, lol. It is a nice campsite, though. Right on the water with decent sized sites. Wish we could be facing the water but they have our site facing away. We spent the rest of the day getting to know the base and cleaning house.

Wednesday was still windy but we hit the beaches at Corpus, Mustang state park and Port Aransas. When I say hit the beach it was too windy to actually get out of the car but we drove along the beach and checked them out. Of course, we found a tiki bar after that. Also saw the Lexington aircraft carrier but didn’t go for the tour.

Thursday the wind finally died down and we did a little running around and came back and enjoyed our campsite and barbecued some steaks.

The campground
A little chipmunk waiting for leftovers
The golf course on the base
Building sand castles
Tiki bar not far from the base. Could be dangerous for us
The Lexington aircraft carrier. Built in the 1920s
