On to anchorage
With Jamie at work I decided to drive to anchorage so we’d be set up there after she got back. Plus I had to go to work the next day and it was easier to commute from there. Was a beautiful drive and I was wishing she was with me.
An interesting thing happened entering Canada. They are very strict on gun laws so I submitted paperwork online so we could carry our hand gun transiting Canada. I never got a response so being concerned they might give me a hard time I rented a storage unit in Coeur d’Alene and left it there planning to pick it up when we passed back through. Well I got to the customs booth and the woman asks if I have a weapon. I say no and she says have you ever had one? Odd question but I say yes and she asks where is it? I tell her and she says she needs to see the receipt for the storage unit. Fortunately I actually had it and new where it was and she was happy. But that was a very odd interaction and made me realize they must have received my paperwork even though they never responded to it. Anyway that was just weird.
