On the road again!

On the road again!

April 16, 2021. Over a year since we put our tour around the country on hold. And today we are finally back on the road again for what will be the final leg in this journey. We left Fort Myers for Knoxville, Tn with a couple of detours. One was to Myrtle Beach to clean out our owner’s closet in the condo we sold. The second stop was in Ashville, Nc to visit the Biltmore Estate.

This home was built by George Vanderbilt. It’s the largest privately owned mansion in the United States at over 178,000 square feet with 250 rooms, 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, 66 fireplaces, a billiard room, bowling alley and 600,000 gallon indoor swimming pool and was built on 125,000 acres. It was pretty impressive to say the least.

There is a huge garden area and they also have their own winery with a tasting room which I’m sure you assumed we indulged in.

We spent one night in Ashville then after visiting the estate continued on to Knoxville.
