May 1 turned out to be an interesting day. I’m breaking this day into two posts because the second half of the day was so unique I have too many pictures to include it with our morning pictures. I’ll get to what made the day so interesting in the second post.

We spent the entire day at Top of the Rock golf resort exploring the many other things the resort had to offer. We started with what they call their lost canyon. It’s an area on the property that is full of waterfalls, unique rock formations and a cave with a bar inside. You have to use a golf cart to go through this area and it took about an hour to go all the way through.

There is also an area that is being developed that you can’t go through yet. A few years ago part of their driving range actually collapsed into a giant sink hole and they discovered large spherical rock formations. They are creating an attraction called their cathedrals that aren’t open yet. They assured us that the land under the clubhouse is much more solid and that won’t be sinking into the earth, as well. I didn’t ask why they weren’t aware of the sink hole before they built the driving range!
