Little Rock, Arkansas
We finally said goodbye to Memphis in April 13 and hit the road for Little Rock, Arkansas. We found a campground right on the Arkansas river and got a front row spot with a great view. We were right across the river and within walking distance from the downtown area with a foot bridge right next to the campground. We both had to work the following day so our first day there was spent settling in and getting ready for our trips.
We got back from work on the 17th, rested that day and hit the road running on the 18th. There really wasn’t much to see in Little Rock but right across the river was the Bill Clinton presidential library and museum. Wasn’t sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised as it was pretty interesting. The first thing you see upon entry was a 1993 Cadillac Eldorado that was built to be the presidential limo with an interesting story on how they came to be. Beyond that were 3 levels that included mock ups of Whitehouse rooms and memorabilia from Bill’s time in office including a bunch of items he collected during his lifetime. Above the 3rd level is an apartment that Bill actually uses when he comes home to visit. Outside is a memorial that he will use for his burial spot.
After leaving the museum it started raining pretty hard so we ended our sight seeing with a quick stop at the state capital for a picture then a place for dinner.
