We left Valdez on Wednesday and spent one night in Tok, Alaska and one night in Whitehorse, British Columbia before arriving Friday in Stewart, BC and meeting up with Gail and Rick. On the way there was an interesting looking jade store. Apparently something like 90 percent of the world’s jade comes from this area in British Columbia. I guess someone found the mining story here interesting enough to make series about it. We’re gonna have to check it out. Jamie spent the obligatory time shopping until I dragged her out lol. One amusing antidote was running into a guy sitting on his rv steps and he says I know you two. Turns out he and I were sitting on a bench in Talkeetna waiting for our girls to finish shopping and here we are again doing the same thing. Do you detect a trend? He was from Michigan to boot. After the jade store we drove to Stewart and got settled into our site.
