Key West

Key West

After the party we had to beeline it back to Marathon because we had to check out of our campground the next day. We decided to take a chance and see if the naval station on Key West had any openings and we were lucky enough to get one. Not only get one but not a spot on the front row right on the water. It was dry camping but we didn’t care. It was only for 4 days so we were fine.

We did some exploring in Key West and also did a sunset sailing cruise that was great. Another thing we did was go to the Harry Truman little white house. It’s a place that was built in 1890 for high ranking naval officers and was later renovated for Harry Truman to use as a getaway. All presidents since are allowed to use it as a getaway and may have. Unfortunately you aren’t allowed to take any pictures on the inside. Of course, I found that out after I started taking pictures and got scolded.
