September

September

September was another busy month. Jim had 3 work trips plus a week in New Hampshire to stay with his mom while Sue and Dan went on a jeep trip. Jamie had to have rotator cuff surgery so she was pretty much out of commission for most of the month. But as I mentioned in a previous post Jamie set us up for a stay at the Arcadia Bluffs Gc for my birthday. Although I’ve played the course before we’ve never stayed at the resort and it was beautiful. I played with my friend Gunther, who flew all the way up from Jacksonville, and Jamie’s dad and his neighbor, Rick. The weather wasn’t exactly my kind of golf weather. It was cloudy and around 60 degrees. But they had golf carts that were completely enclosed and actually had little propane heaters in then so we stayed toasty warm.

While we were playing Jamie checked us into the resort and set the room up for a party. All her family that lived up there showed up and surprised me when I walked in. Of course they had a few choice old man gifts waiting for me including a cane with a horn. We had a great dinner in their restaurant followed by a nightcap in their bar. It was a great birthday.

This is a shot of Jim when we played St. Andrews. He seems to like those bunkers. Unlike me me had no problem getting out of them
