Scenic Route 30

Scenic Route 30

The next day we took a ride down historic Route 30 at the recommendation of some friends. It basically goes from Destin to Panama City right along the beach. I’d call it more of a beach drive. That being said it was a beautiful drive through a bunch of quaint beach towns with lots of touristy stuff like shops, restaurants, bars, etc. We wanted to visit Panama City, as well, because it seems we were always hearing about that town being touristy. Well, not only wasn’t it much to visit but it still was under recovery after being devastated by hurricane Michael. Trees were down everywhere, homes were still destroyed, businesses were still closed. It was really bad.

Going there we kind of drove quickly to scope out the drive but on the way home we stopped at a bunch of places to shop and have a beer. Our last stop was at a great place to watch the sunset from that was also recommended to us. As you can see from the photos, the sunset was amazing.
