Dick Barber Vintage Motorsport Museum
The next day Jamie said she needed a break. Of course I don’t know how to do that so I headed to the Dick Barber Motorsport Museum. It was another place that was recommended to me and I wasn’t sure what to expect but, as usual, it was another great find. The whole complex sits on an 880 acre property and includes 2.38 mile indy track, the motorsport museum and a park. They’ve been holding the IndyCar Series’ Grand Prix of Alabama every April since 2010. Too bad we’ll have moved on by then.
That in itself was kind of cool but the museum was amazing. It has over 1600 cars and motorcycles on display. The motorcycles range from the 1800’s to today with from what I can tell every brand and type is represented. The cars are all some type of sports cars. There were so many vehicles in here I posted a bunch of pictures. Some come with a description but there were so many that most don’t so they’re there just to browse and not to know what they are. Unless you’re a sports car or motorcycle enthusiast it’s probably more pictures then you want to browse through.
