Sunday we headed downtown for our first look at Mardi Gras which was in full swing and did not disappoint. The reality is it’s just a town full of drunks (present company excluded?) out having a good time and acting and dressing up crazy and a bunch of interesting looking floats throwing junk onto the hands of the junk hungry drunks. But it’s hard not to get swept up by the spirit of the celebration and we went home with more than our share of beads, decorated plastic cups, stuffed animals and other, you guessed it, junk. We also watched the superbowl at a great German bar with lots of beer and great food.
