Birmingham, Al

With Jamie’s back and Jim’s mom on the mend we left Jacksonville to start our trek north as summer was on it’s way. First stop was supposed to be Montgomery, AL but our delay had us bypassing that stop. Maybe we’ll be back when we head south for the fall. So our first, and only stop in Alabama this spring was Birmingham. This also happened to be where Jim’s college roommate and his wife, Brenda live. So Jim was excited to reconnect with them.

We found a nice campground in a state park right next to a horse stable. Smell was only slightly noticeable at times, lol. During the course of our time here we got together with Craig and Brenda numerous times and ate at some great restaurants. Jim also got to drive Craig’s 1968 Jaguar. Jim has always had a thing for Jaguars and this was the first he had ever driven one. He got it up to 115 mph and it still wanted to go faster! What a thrill. Oops, did I just admit to breaking the law?
