Biloxi, Day 2

Biloxi, Day 2

The visitor center set us up with a woman who runs a tour of Biloxi in a trolley pulled by her jeep. It was off season so we were the only ones on the big trolley. Was a little odd but we definitely got VIP treatment. The tour lasted a couple of hours and we learned allot about the city and the impact of hurricane Katrina back in 2005. You can still see signs of the destruction caused by Katrina. Our last stop on the tour was at a memorial park set up to remember Katrina and the people and property that was lost. We also saw the original building where they manufactured Barq’s root beer.

After the tour we headed to a little beach front bar to watch the sunset, which was beautiful. From there we had some dinner and went to Harrah’s and played in the casino for the rest of the night.

Look at the horizontal rod above the stop sign. That’s how high the water came up during Katrina. The read the plaque on the next picture.
