Back to anchorage for our train ride to Denali

Monday we left Kenai for anchorage for a scheduled train ride and two nights at Denali national park. Got to another cramped campground but this one had an additional attraction. The train track ran about 20′ from our campsite. The rv actually shook when a train went by. And the engineer was kind enough to give a hello blast of his horn as he went by. Fortunately the train only went by a few times a day.
We left the next day for an 8am (still too early for Jamie and me) train. We originally thought about driving there but Jamie’s dad suggested the train and I’m glad he did. It was a very comfortable train with a restaurant and bar and I could get up and walk and enjoying the views instead of being stuck in my usual drivers seat. We got to our cabin which was so so because we booked late but it was doable. Took the hotel van to the town of Denali and the girls shopped till they dropped while Jim and I had a beer then had dinner.
