We arrived back in anchorage on Aug 6 but since it was Sunday we couldn’t pick up the rv till Monday so based on a recommendation we took a ride to Alyeska mountain resort for an overnight. Prior to going we made a reservation at their mountaintop restaurant but had not made a hotel reservation because the prices seemed a bit high. We figured if they had availability and could give us a better price than what we saw online we’d stay. Otherwise we’d have dinner and find another place to stay. The resort was only 45 min from anchorage so we had options. We got there and it really was a beautiful resort and they gave us a price that was much lower than online so we stayed. We got there early afternoon and our dinner reservation wasn’t until 7 so if course after a long travel day instead of napping we decided to take a couple miles hike on one of their numerous trails. After the hike we cleaned up and took the gondola to the top of the mountain where the restaurant was but also a nice bar for happy hour. Had a beer enjoying the views then went to dinner. The views from the restaurant were spectacular and the food was very good. After dinner jet lag finally caught up with us and we headed to bed. Definitely glad we made this side trip.
