Auckland, New Zealand

Auckland, New Zealand

Like St. Croix, this isn’t part of our rv adventure but we did another side trip. Jamie had a trip to Auckland, New Zealand on the 18th so Jim decided to ride along since neither of us had ever been there. I must say, it was quite nice riding in first class there and back. We got there about 11am and hit the ground running. Jamie was quite the trooper since she only got a few hours of sleep on the flight.

We went to an island off of the city of Auckland called Waiheke. It’s an island with numerous wineries that was recommended to us. Wineries, hmm, guess I now know why she was so motivated to hit the ground running. We went with another flight attendant and it was a beautiful day. The boat ride was nice and we did a hop on hop off bus tour of the island. The first place we hit was called Mudbrick winery. It was a beautiful property with a great restaurant where we had lunch. We hit about 3 more wineries then finished up at a bar called Charley Farley’s that was right on the beach.

We returned to Auckland and had a small dinner then all were ready to pass out.
