Albuquerque

We pulled into Kirkland AFB in Albuquerue, NM for a visit with Jamie’s step parents. We got to play a round of golf at the resort where Cathy works but our initial stay was short lived. Jim had to go to work and Jamie decided to go visit Ashley who was in London doing some continuing work on her degree.

We got back and the two Jims, Jamie and Cathy decided to do an overnight trip to Taos and Santa Fe. It was a great trip. We started in Taos, NM visiting the Taos Pueblo, which is one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in the United States. It is estimated to have been originally built about 1000 years ago and still has people living there full time. A lot of it’s obviously been rebuilt through the years but the foundation is still original. It’s also listed as one of the UNESCO world heritage sites.

After touring the pueblo we headed to the Taos square for lunch. The girls did a some shopping (big surprise there) and we headed for Santa Fe.
