Airboat ride
We left Key West on the 21st to head back to Tampa so Jamie could get eye surgery done. On the way we stopped just west of Miami for an overnight at a small casino that allowed overnight rv parking. The next morning we booked an everglades air boat tour. We had done one in Louisiana but decided to give this one a shot and we liked it better. The guide was a native American that was raised on the reservation in the everglades and knew them well. He pulled us right up to many gators and imitated a mother’s call to her young and got a few gators to swim right up to the boat. He even tapped one on the nose and got it to open up it’s mouth. It wasn’t a very big one lol. We also got to see a mother with two litters, one fairly new and one set that was almost a year old. Apparently they stay with their mothers for about a year. We counted about 40 babies.
The next day we drove to Tampa.
