Day 6 – WWII Museum

Day 6 – WWII Museum

Monday we took a down day in preparation for the big next day, Fat Tuesday. We drove around the base a little and just relaxed.

Tuesday’s celebration was more of the same just on a much grander scale. There were multiple parades going on at the same time the entire day all over town. And more junk. But, again, we were swept into the spirit and had a great time.

Wednesday we went to the WWII. That was a great experience that gave alot of insight and information. You know, the stuff we ignored in school? Very emotional and well done. Definitely a worthwhile stop.

After that we went to a beer garden in search of a beer and information. We wanted to pick some local brain for a good authentic Cajun restaurant. We hit the jackpot as the bartender sent us to a great place that was just what we were looking for. It was full of atmosphere and good food and was packed from the time we got there to the time we left. (I can’t say great food as I’m not a huge fan of Cajun food but when in Rome). I had shrimp Creole and Jamie had redfish.
