Philadelphia

Philadelphia

Our time with the kids came to an end but not without some hitches. The plan was for Jamie and Cadence to fly from Atlantic City to Detroit and the next day Jim and Eric would drop the rv off so we could get a valve replaced on one of our jacks that wasn’t working properly. After dropping the rv off Jim would drop Eric off at the Philadelphia airport at the same time Jamie was flying back to Philadelphia from Detroit. Then we got tickets to see the Mets and Philadelphia that night then pick up the rv and head to Delaware. I know, complicated, right? It was like an orchestra that was gonna all come together perfectly, or so we thought.

Jamie was flying on Spirit, the only airline that flies from Atlantic City, and over the last few days Spirit had been cancelling over 60% of their flights. And, I’m sure you can guess, hers was one of the 60%. So our back up plan was to drive her to Newark to catch a flight from there. Wrong! With all of Spirit’s cancellations compounded by American cancelling a bunch of flights all flights were over booked. Jamie decided she had had enough of trying to fly and rented a car and drove with Cadence to Detroit. The left late afternoon and, with a stop along the way, arrived in Detroit late morning so Jamie could catch her flight she already had booked from Detroit to Philadelphia. And people call me crazy? Lol. Anyway, our plans all came together and she arrived as I was dropping Eric off at the airport and we went back to the hotel and she passed out.

The next day we took it easy but did walk around Independence Square then went to the baseball game that night. Which, they lost, of course.
