From Cusco to Ollantaytambo
We met our guide at about 10 am and it was off to Ollantaytambo, our next overnight stop a couple hours away. It’s the oldest continuously inhabited town of the Inca. On the way we stopped at a town called Pisac to see the ruins there. After that we stopped for lunch then on to Ollantaytambo for a tour of the Ollantaytambo fortress. After the tour we headed to the hotel and checked into our rooms. Then we went to sleep, right? Uh, no, we headed to what looked like a fun bar in the square. The owner was an ex tour guide who just bought the bar a few months ago so we showed him how the Guggers and Murphys party. We taught him some new drinks and shots and played some of our favorite tunes on his sound system which he ended up downloading from me, lol. He took some videos of us singing and doing shots and I think they were going up on his Facebook page but I couldn’t find it. We ordered some pizzas from next door and had a great time. A prefect night to kick off what we didn’t know would be a brutal next couple of days.
