On to Coeur d’Alene, ID

On to Coeur d’Alene, ID

Next was on to Couer de Lane, Idaho where we were parking for a week prior to heading toward Alaska. Last time we were there we missed out on playing the resort course so we weren’t gonna let that happen twice. We got there Thursday and had a tee time on Friday. What a beautiful course. This and wolf creek were my two favorites on this trip so far. From the driving range you hit balls into the water and…

Craters of the moon

Craters of the moon

The night of the 24th was spent in Arco, Id where we went to Craters of the moon national park. Basically a place with a bunch of lava rock that someone decided looks like the moon. It was ok. Very windy that day. There was a cave we went through and a huge sand hill that Jim walked to the top of and almost got blown over! Jamie went about halfway up. She’s a bit smarter than Jim. Arco was…

On to Idaho

On to Idaho

Monday we left Vegas but first stopped to have the rv serviced in preparation for our Alaska adventure. That took most of the morning so we only drove a couple hours north to a town called Mesquite, Nv. That was the town I played golf in at Wolf Creek earlier in the month. From there we drove to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho to spend the night. They had 3 pools with temperatures ranging from 100 degrees to something like 108…

Jamie’s day off while Jim plays golf

Jamie’s day off while Jim plays golf

Sunday Jamie wanted a day off so I went out and hit the links. I played at a place called Royal Links which was a culmination of famous holes throughout Great Britian. It was a very nice course made more enjoyable with all the history it represented. There were even a few holes I’d played before such as St. Andrews numbers 12, 14 & 17. The clubhouse looked like a castle right out of ancient Europe and they even had…

More Vegas

More Vegas

We got back from Hawaii on 5/18 and had/needed a down day. So Thurs and Fri were spent unpacking and doing laundry and otherwise relaxing. Then Saturday night it was time to get hopping again, lol. We went to the Stratosphere hotel and casino and went up top to experience their rooftop thrill rides. They had 3. One was a ride that hung over the side of the hotel and spun you around over the city. Neither of us are…

Cinco de mayo Vegas style plus Hoover dam

Cinco de mayo Vegas style plus Hoover dam

Friday we went to the Hoover dam and took a tour. Very impressive. Then that evening it was cinco de mayo so what better place to spend it then Freemont St. in Vegas. That place is crazy enough but cinco de mayo really brought out the kooks as you can see from the pics. We started with margaritas at an outside bar people watching then walked around. They even have a zip line that you fly over the crowds head….

Wolf Creek GC. Nevada

Wolf Creek GC. Nevada

Thursday I played golf at Wolf Creek gc in Mesquite, Nv. About an hour fifteen northeast of Vegas. It’s one of my top 100 US courses coming in at number 66 in the 2016 golf magazine ratings. What a spectacular course. The pictures don’t really do it justice. It was nestled between beautiful mountains and the course played up and down some very large hills. In fact, they tell you to be very careful and make you sign a waiver…
