On to Montana!

On to Montana!

We left Idaho on the 24th and headed to Great Falls, Montana for the first stop on our way to Alaska. We’ll be staying here a couple weeks while we go to work and attend Brent’s induction ceremony into medical school. I have to say, Montana is beautiful. The mountains, lakes and rivers are spectacular. We stopped at a tiny little town called Ennis for lunch on the way. We then made our way to Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls….

The Dunes of St. Anthony, Id

The Dunes of St. Anthony, Id

We returned from work and headed to St. Anthony, Idaho to meet up with the crazy Murphy’s and McElyea’s for some wild riding over the sand dunes in their Polaris razors. We had a blast! We had to cover our eyes and faces due to all the sand being kicked up by razors in front of you. Jamie finally got up the nerve to drive one (the only girl to do so I might add) and unfortunately now she wants…

A New Home

A New Home

On a whim we decided to take a ride to an rv dealer to look at some new Fleetwoods. Ever since our overheat incident we started discussing the fact that we are probably gonna keep our rv for many years and will eventually have to replace it. And our value is only gonna go down while the prices of new ones are only gonna go up. Well we found a brand new 2016 model that we loved (2017s are already…

Golf at Hill AFB

Golf at Hill AFB

Today Jim played golf on the base course while Jamie had a spa day of nails and massage. The course was very nice with views of the mountains and the base. F35’s were constantly showing off overhead. You can click on the title to this post if you want to see the pictures of the course.

Finally Left California

Finally Left California

We left Monterey on July 12 and for now said goodbye to California after 2 months here. But we’ll be back, it’s such a huge state there’s still more for us to see! The drive to Utah took 2 days. It was a beautiful ride through lots of mountains, which Bridget struggled slightly through. Hence the reason for a later post. She did pretty good making it over the mountains but the engine got a little hot. To the point…

Santa Cruz, CA

Santa Cruz, CA

Today we went to Santa Cruz and the boardwalk. It really reminded me of Seaside boardwalk in NJ. Same number of people, same rides and food, same cold water, lol. Saw some sea lions sunning themselves on the pier. Another great day. Crazy thing is the temperature in Santa Cruz is about 20 degrees warmer than where we were staying in Monterrey. Same distance from the water, same elevation. Crazy. We prefer Santa Cruz temperatures lol. Click on the pictures…

Pebble Beach!!

Pebble Beach!!

Pebble Beach!!! What more can I say. I have now played the two courses that I want most to play in my lifetime, St. Andrews and Pebble Beach. There are others, some of which I can’t get on since they’re private but those are my top two public courses. It was beautiful. I went with the goal of breaking 100 and I shot 98. I could definitely do better but between the course difficulty and just enjoying the course I’m…

Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe

For the 4th of July weekend we drove to Lake Tahoe to spend the weekend with Jess and Gunther and their friends Ed and Sandie at their place at the lake. We went to a beer/bluegrass festival, went out on Ed and Sandie’s boat, and drove around the lake. We’d never been there and it was beautiful with perfect weather the whole weekend. Sunny and 80 degrees every day. We also rode up the ski lift at Heavenly Ski resort…
